 THE ADVENTURE

Join authors and conservationists Hank and Carol Fischer as they journey through Yellowstone National Park on a quest to find wolves and grizzly bears.  Also guiding on the trip will be Nathan Varley (www.wolftracker.com), a Yellowstone expert who has lived in or near the Park all his life.

The trip is timed to coincide with a remarkable natural event that occurs annually in Yellowstone: the birth of thousands of elk calves.  This Dan Hartman photo. Grizzly in Yellowstoneburst of new life triggers a frenzy of predation, providing a peak opportunity for viewing wolves and grizzlies.  On a typical trip we will see 10-15 different grizzlies and a similar number of wolves.  We have watched both grizzlies and wolves make kills.

Learn the natural history of wolves and bears from some of the nation's leading experts.  Discover the fascinating relationship between predator and prey.  Explore the far-reaching implications of Yellowstone lower falls. Hank and Carol will take you to places where wolves hunt in the alpenglow and grizzly bears dig for biscuitroot, where bison and their orange calves emerge from the morning mist, where bighorn sheep perch precariously on cliff walls.  Along the way, you’ll have the opportunity to observe nesting
